7 Words Or Phrases To Wipe From Your Vocab If You Want To Achieve Your Goals.

Dreaming of starting a business, becoming healthier, having better relationships, earning more money, or getting a promotion? If you want to achieve any dream or goal then you need to realise the power of your words.

When you use the words and phrases below it's like putting the fire out that's underneath your goals, hopes and dreams, preventing them from igniting into fruition.

Cut these words from your vocab and watch as you begin to soar!

 
1. I DON’T HAVE TIME
Look for evidence of people who have achieved some of the things that you dream of and take note that they have the exact same amount of time as you. "I don’t have time" is just an excuse. Time is a currency, we all have the same amount, the only difference is how you spend it. It's all a matter of priority. Notice how you make time for the things that are most important to you. How can you shift your focus so you prioritise time to do more of the things that will move you closer to your goals?
 
2. SOMEDAY 
We all have our list of ‘someday’ things we are going to do and that's ok, we can't do it all right now.
But just as long as you have at least one of your "someday" things on your "Today" list. What important dream or goal are you taking action on right now?
 
3. WHEN 
This is like a swear word in the self-improvement arena. When I lose 10 kilos then I can look for a new relationship. When I’m older I’ll ask for a promotion. When my children leave home I will start a business. When I have enough money I will go on a holiday overseas... and on it goes. Notice if you're using the word "When" about something that is important to you. Ditch the when – start NOW!
 
4. WILLPOWER
This is a funny thing as people seem to believe that they either have willpower or they don’t have it. Your genes don’t decide whether you will have another chocolate biscuit or not. If you find you are resorting to sheer willpower to do what you need to do to achieve your goals, then I encourage you to stop and reassess the motivating forces that are driving you. Your desire and motivation needs to be so strong that willpower is not a factor in your success.
 
5. NOT GOOD ENOUGH
These three simple little words can change the course of your life. "Not good enough" can stop you from picking up the phone and making an important phone call that you know you should make. "Not good enough" can stop you from auditioning for a play you would love to be in. "Not good enough" could stop you from approaching a person that you want to speak to. Change ‘Not good enough’ to:
“It might not be perfect yet, but it IS good enough." Don’t wait for everything to be perfect - DO IT NOW!
 
6.  I WISH...
Step up and take charge of your life. You will have the control over your destiny if you don’t wish that what you want will magically appear. It takes a decision and it takes action, not wishful thinking!
 
7. IT’S NOT THE RIGHT TIME
If not now, when? If you are sitting back waiting for the stars to align, forget it… it won’t happen. Instead of waiting for the right time, shift your thinking and decide when it is the right time and make it happen.
“Don’t wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect!”
 

Think back to the goals you've achieved in the past and see that it was your planning, vision, dedication, perseverance and also the POSITIVE MOVING FORWARD WORDS that got you over the line. Creating your dream future takes a conscious effort to think and speak in positive and productive ways that help you grow and improve every day, but it is definitely worth the effort!
