Do you sometimes feel like you're on an emotional roller coaster, riding the twists and turns of life, feeling fantastic to frazzled and everything in between in any given day? You're not the only one! Many people feel controlled by circumstances around them and think that they have little or no control over their feelings. The good news is you actually DO have control over your feelings and the first step to taking control is accepting this.
STEP 1 - Acknowledge
Your feelings and emotions are a direct result of your thoughts. And, since you are the thinker in your mind, and you CAN control your thoughts, then you CAN control how you feel. Acknowledge this fact and feel the immediate power that it gives you.
STEP 2 - Set Your Intention
Make 'how you feel' the #1 priority in your day. Affirm at the start of the day - "Today I am going to feel good all day, no matter what!" Simply setting this intention goes a long way to making it happen.
STEP 3 - Deliberate Focus
Become a deliberate thinker. Don't let your thoughts fly around willy nilly. Remember, thoughts are powerful things. Get in the habit of regularly getting your thoughts in check. Several times a day pause and listen to your thoughts. How are the thoughts you are having making you feel? You do have the ability to deliberately switch to a better feeling thought. Make the switch.
Take these 3 steps every day and notice how good it feels to be more in control of your feelings. Feel the wonderful respite of not having to try and control the uncontrollable.
