Did you set some goals for this year?
Today is your wake-up call!
We're half way done.
Today's the day to ask yourself,
"How am I tracking on the goals I set or the person I wanted to be this year?".
HARSH TRUTH :
If you aren’t where you want to be, it's because you didn't make the choices and take the daily actions that would lead you there.
Whether it's:
You, today, are the manifestation of your past daily micro-moment choices and actions.
If you want to do better in the second half of the year, your future choices and actions are of utmost importance.
What's required:
Let's look back at Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi quote above -
"At this point in our history it should be possible for an individual to build a self that is not simply the outcome of biological drives and cultural habits, but a conscious, personal creation".
Are you the outcome of your biological in-the-moment drives and cultural habits?
(eg. that piece of chocolate cake, zoning out on Netflix, or allowing your mind to be consumed by the drama of the day).
Or are you a conscious, personal creation ?
It's important to me that you know -
My Peptalks are not me preaching to you, like I'm some kind of master savant at this stuff. They are more about me taking a real life problem I have, learning some skills and tools to overcome it, and sharing it with you to motivate both me and you to do better and be better.
My big goal this year was to share, via an online platform, mind-conquering ideas, tools, tips & tricks in ways that help people take action to feel, be, and do better.
Here I am, the year is half-way-done and, although I've done a heap of work, I still find myself going around in circles.
What's holding me back?
Here are a few thoughts you may be able to relate to:
Today I call bullsh**!
For real this time.
I'm not setting an illusive deadline for when I'll launch my first course.
I'm launching my first course today - right here, right now.
Is it perfect? NO (reminder: nothing is ever perfect, and if you wait for it to be so, you'll be waiting forever.)
Is it meaningful? YES!
Is it the start of something great? YES!
Will it be beneficial to myself and others? YES!
Can I get better and better at this? YES!
As I've mentioned in the last few weeks,I've been working on a course called The Bendy Body Calm Mind Course. That course (enter aforementioned issues : overwhelm, procrastination, distraction, avoidance, perfectionism) is not finished. YET!
But, in the name of, I will not go another day allowing overwhelm, procrastination, distraction, avoidance, or perfectionism to rule, I'm kicking off July with a mini-course I created earlier in the year that is ready, and fittingly, it's on a completely relevant topic -
